Three scripts in every sentence
Japanese mixes thousands of kanji with two syllabaries — hiragana for grammar, katakana for loanwords — often inside a single line. The Japanese model recognizes all three simultaneously and keeps them straight; no generic engine can.
From manuals to documents
Business documents and contracts, product manuals, academic papers, books — printed Japanese recognizes very well. Vertical (縦書き) layouts common in books are the layout to watch; standard horizontal documents are straightforward.
