Same script as Hindi, different language
Marathi shares Devanagari with Hindi but has its own letters (the retroflex ळ), its own conjunct habits and its own vocabulary. Selecting Marathi applies the right language model on top of the script — improving word-level accuracy over a generic Hindi setting.
